Down…

March 6th, 2006 by rance-ch

For no apparent reason, i suddenly feel down. All emotions just plunged to the bottom. I have no idea why. Maybe just plain homesick, esp after visiting friends’ blog page. Then again, maybe its just my hormonal imbalance…

Haven’t been in my best condition in the past few days, physical & mental wise. Weakling…

But! Yes, there’s stg to but about… We watched the last hockey game of the season & the game was rily exciting & worth watching. A little let down that the season has ended. We’ll have to wait till Oct for it to begin & we won’t be able to watch till the end. Ice hockey is rily nice to watch, esp with all the cheers we have for the team & of cos with the team so "keng", we’d be more than glad to support them as compared to the basketball team. Not that the basketball’s not good, just that they’re not as good as hockey. Also, the football (rugby) season’s coming. That’s another sport that BSU’s good at. Will try watching that game.

Was thinking about a "deep" issue this morning while walking to class. COncerns my future alot. Worried that it’ll influence my life later on, whether i like it or not. Hopefully, it doesn’t. I pray hard it doesn’t cos it’ll be a huge impact if it does. So wanna talk to him about it but just couldn’t get through. Sigh…

Heart’s heavy…

Long week ahead filled with quizzes & assignments. The lecturers just had to slaughter us with work before the spring break. Hell crap!

I miss home…

Life is unfair

March 2nd, 2006 by rance-ch

Life’s unfair! Life sucks!

Yes… I’m currently in an unstable emotion. Y? Thanks to the events & people in life.

Heart is welled up with mixed emotions - sadness, disappointment, anger… U say it, i’ll most probably have it! Whateva!

How come I’m not allowed to have the opportunity? I suppose they could clearly see through me that I was thoroughly disappointed but what the heck?! I’m left with no choice…

How come they get the chance when we don’t when what we’ve been doing for the past few days was to rush up & down, waiting for "it" to be there? What have others been doing? Is timing & chance all that matters? What happened to the effort put in?

Life is so bloody unfair!

It doesn’t mean that even though u’ve invested all your hardest work in, u’ll get a desired outcome. Who said so? Then again, who am I to think so? Why did I even bother thinking in such a manner in the first place?

F%^& B#$^%

Feel like bursting right now. Feel like breaking down right now. This may not be the most stressful moment of my life but accumulated stress is one of a whole big heck of deal.

Life just isn’t a bed of roses. It just isn’t… It just isn’t…

Go ahead, break down and cry girl… Break down and cry…

Having fun in the midst of stressful life

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!
Here I am now in the library of BSU. I just went through a hectic week last week, with 3 psych subjects’ tests. It went quite well for me though but it was hard work…

Celebrated my CNY with a bunch of Malaysians where we had a potluck on Sunday night. There were a lot of local food (e.g. barley, chik kut teh, fried curry chicken, "mei tau" etc.) About 40-50 ppl came for the "party". The dress code was either traditional or red clothing. I wore my cheong sam. There was another girl who wore hers too. A japanese girl wore her kimono. A baju kurung girl as well. Most wore red tops. So, basically the lounge was filled with red top people. It was decorated with red lights, red cloth etc. CNY songs playing through the radio. Everyone cooperated in creating a rily CNY atmosphere. It was a happy night but it made me miss home even more. I rily miss celebrating CNY back at home, with all the ang paus n cookies (pineapple biscuits, kui ka pet, bee hive…) Its still CNY mood n holidays back in Malaysia. Here, right after SUnday, it was back to school & assignments & readings. There’s no holiday here at all!!! CNY mood kinda slowed me down in my studies. Haha… MISS YOU GUYS!!! MISS MY FAMILY!!! MISS DARLING!!!

Next week is gonna be another hectic week. It’s gonna be like this every fortnight. THere’s gonna be 2 quizzes & an assignment due on Wednesday. A quiz on THursday but Friday’s a holiday! Hoorah!

Btw, my laptop’s "sick" n its at the computer shop now. WIll only be getting it back next week. Sad case but luckily it wasn’t big a much deal. Something was wrong with the keyboard & they managed to find a replacement for it. Not very costly, if you count it dollar for dollar. Haha…

I’ll have to stop for now. Have Chinese class coming up in 10 minutes’ time. Don’t ask me why am I in Chinese class. It’s super boring & everytime I’m in that class, sleeping is what I do. Haha… & the teacher’s from CHina. Her slang’s "weird" or should I say that i’m not used to it. Just don’t like it. Sigh…

BYE!

Busy University life

January 23rd, 2006 by rance-ch

Hey hey! The last blog was before my orientation & now, it’s been 3 weeks past my orientation. Nothing much to talk about the orientation. Kinda boring in a way cos they just bombarded us with information from morning till evening. No ragging (cos we’re international students + we’re seniors hehe…)

Life in university is different from college life back in HELP, Malaysia. I guess we were really in a way spoon fed, given notes n lectured by lecturers. Here, its all up to us. Advance reading, critical thinking etc. They emphasize a lot on participation, meaning we had to open up our mouths to talk & ask questions in class instead of preparing ourselves with pens n papers for note taking. Forcing me to come out from my shell. Back there, who cares whether u say a thing in class or not. Now here, u lose marks when u keep ur mouth shut. It’s best that the lecturers remember ur name. Books here are expensive MAXIMUM! I actually bought a book for $114 (Rm400???) & that’s like only ONE book. I’ve bought the rest second hand, ranging from $30 to $60. Sigh… No choice. Books are necessities here cos all subjects require advance reading (except for Chinese - Yes, i’m taking Chinese classes. Seemed like a guaranteed "A" Haha…)

I’ve so far tried snowmobiling & sledding. Gonna try ice fishing tomoro. SHould b fun n cool. Snowmobiling’s a really fun sport. We’re all not entitled to lisence. So, it was those ppl who had them bringing us on their snowmobile. Rily "chi kek". I sat on a sled with a friend while being pulled by the snowmobile. Took pictures too. Unfortunately, on the day where everyone was having fun, stg misfortunate happened. A friend of ours kinda broke his arm. Well, what can i say - "malang tidak berbau"… Sledding is exciting as well. Fast, all the way down the slope. Butt hurts though. N if ur face ain’t covered, that’s when the snow comes splashing. Painful! The best was the 6 ppl train sledding I think. Wonderful experience…

Watched my first live ice hockey game on last Saturday (21.1.06). Another memorable experience. From what i’ve heard, my U’s ice hockey team is considered one of the best teams in the state. So, BSU students had free tickets or else we had to buy the tickets for $12. Walked in Licken Hall, all blur. I had no idea of the rules, the players etc. Only watched it on tv. Stood where all the other U students stood. Could see some of them holding the brooms up side down. Was wondering why did they brought the brooms. The band was at the corner. When the game finally started, ppl were shouting out the cheers that I could hardly hear or comprehend. THen, the players skated out. Screams n cheers everywhere. Btw, BSU’s team had a mascot/ representative of "beavers". Game started. A friend was explaining to me the details while watching. Very "kan chiong". Hard always skipped a beat when the puck goes near the goal. The cheers were rather cute i would say. Let me see…
Cheer after scoring:
B E M I D J I, Bemidji, Bemidji, Go… Beavers!!!

Cheer to score:
Give me an "S" (crowd shouts "S"), Give me an "E", Give me an "X"
What’s the word?
SEX
What does it stand for?
SCORE, SCORE, SCORE, SCORE… (I’m not rily sure whether this is the right way, but it’s stg similar)

Cheer for defense:
Give me a "C", Give me an "O", Give me an "N", Give me a "D", Give me an "O", Give me an "M"
What’s the word?
CONDOM
What does it stand for?
DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE…

Cheer for teamwork:
Give me an "O", Give me an "R", Give me a "G", Give me a "Y"
What’s the word?
ORGY
What does it stand for?
TEAMWORK, TEAMWORK, TEAMWORK, TEAMWORK…

Wheneva we score, the crowd will shout "Save, Save, Save, Save…" towards the opponent’s keaper (I think…)

Then sometimes, they’ll bring up the broom & shout "Sweep" meaning "sapu" Haha…

Heard them shouting "Harper sucks, Harper sucks…" Harper’s the name of the opponent’s keeper.

The crowd even insulted the referee cos it seems that everytime this particular referee’s around, our team gets extra penalties…

Ice hockey’s a rough game but that’s part of wat contributes to the excitement. During the 1st period, we lost by 1 point I think or we tied (1-2 or 2-2). The opponent’s the Air Force Academy (represented as Falcon). 2nd period, we either tied or lost by 1point (2-3 or 3-3). Can’t remember clearly. 3rd period a.k.a last period, we WON by 5-3!!! Yay! Was so happy that our U won. Was kinda worried at the beginning cos we were trailing & the opponents were just attacking. During the last few minutes (after we lead), the opponents started using the striking strategy, as in no goal keepers - all 5 strikers. Risky… A game worthy of watching…

Basketball, on the other hand’s, not such a favorite game here. I saw the BSU team. All black & 2 whites. No leng chai. Haha…

I have 3 psyc quizes coming up this week. Burdeningnya… Die liao la…

CNY’s this Sunday. I’m gonna miss home very very much. I’m already missing the Malaysian delicacies already. Now, i realize where Malaysia has its value - FOOD. (Don misunderstand. Not refering to the people. I have lots of ppl i love back there. Was refering to the education, politics, economics etc.)

Guess that’s all for now. Till I blog again…

Days before class starts in Bemidji II

January 8th, 2006 by rance-ch

Actually this is a very late entry cos its almost a week before already & I can’t rily recall the events that took place.  Anyway, in my last blog entry, I mentioned that I’ll continue from day 4 without realizing that I’ve already blogged about it in the last paragraph (i think…). Ok, let’s continue from Day 5. If i’m not mistaken, it was Saturday & we went to the lake side. The lake was frozen & it’s like a layer of ice above the water. Similar to a skating ring kinda place. The snow was really high, up until the knees & as we walked towards the lake, we just sunk into it. Haha… The lake was amazing! Beautiful maximum! It’s like a whole white piece of land & u can see from afar, there are trucks, cabin, snowmobile etc. The scenery was just breath taking! Took quite a lot of photos there too. Tot the weather wasn’t all that cold that but do not judge a book by it’s cover. I wasn’t wearing any long john. Just a plain jacket & winter jacket with jeans. A  layer of leather gloves (which wasn’t all that think, bought from Sox world) & snow boots with cotton socks instead of wool socks. By the end of the "trip", my finger tips & toe tips were rily aching & numbing already. An experience worth remembering… Yeah…

Day 6. Wat’s on Day 6? I think we stayed back at Linden Hall (the place where I live) & played poker cards practically the whole day. Haha…

Day 7. Went out with the gang (plus mama, hing hing, pui wah & huey) to welcome the new bunch of students arriving from KL. There were about 7 of them. Had to prepare dinner for the bunch just as how the seniors had prepared for us earlier on. Learnt & had my 1st experience of "deboning" chicken today. The chicken fillets here are costly. SO, the most cost effective method is to get chicken thighs & debone it. Btw, the deboned chickens are for curry purposes. We prepared ABC soup (by Val added with chicken bones from the deboning process haha…), curry chicken (by Hing Hing), Cabbage & brinjal (by Mun Yee ++), Onion eggs (by Xin Yuan) & drinks (by Bruce?). I think that’s about it. Now… not that I didn’t help ok? I was in charge of dish washing. Not that anyone put me into responsibility but since no1 was doing it… I just went ahead with it. I’m kinda known as the "dish washer" (Val claims that it’s cos I dunno how to cook… *sob sob*). Alot of left overs cos the new bunch didn’t eat much (I think). So, the foods gonna be tmr’s dinner AGAIN!

Day 8. Went to Target (another shopping place). Went on walking in & out the shops nearby. There was a Dollar Tree shop which sold almost everything for $1. There were kinda a few (or should I say alot) things cos there were cheaper ones there such as network cable ($1 for $10), biscuits, tortilla chips, baskets etc. I realized that every single time we come out shopping, we always end up having quite a lot of packets brought home. Spend like crap… Wahahaha…

Day 9… I don’t remember day 9… Another new bunch arriving? Haha… Kinda "chap" my stuffs. Haven’t shifted into my official room. Preparing to so that tmr nonit to rush…

Day 10. Shifting day!!! Helped the new bunch as they were still kinda blur, unequipped n all. Finally got our keys to our rooms. Went through quite a hassle actually. Firstly, waited for Hing Hing at Walnut Hall soooo long. Freezing outside! Went to Res Life & they said the keys were at Linden. Hing HIng finally showed up. Next thing we know, the keys aren’t at Linden & they’re at the security. Shucks! Nvm… Had a "da sao chu" aka "gotong-royong" cleaning up our new rooms. Adjusted the bed, sweeped & vacuumed the floor, mopped the floor with small clothes (mop was dirty), wiped the furnitures. TIring day but worth it! My room (with Val) and Fang’s room (with Yi) are like the few neat ones around. So proud of our hardwork & proud of myself cos I seldom do house chores at home. Haha… Finally unpacked. I realized another thing. I think I’m more of a clean person than I realize I am. Sweeping the room quite a few times a day cos there’s always sand everywhere. Maybe cos we always walk in n out of the room… Sigh… Well, that’s wat we need to do to maintain a "Malaysian" style room (NO SLIPPERS IN). Haha…

I guess that’s all the days. Orientation starts tomoro. Anticipating yet worried…

Days before class starts in Bemidji

January 2nd, 2006 by rance-ch

How’s life here in Bemidji? Erm… It’s considered a tourism spot especially during summer cos of the lake. The Mississipy River flows into the lake & Bemidji’s the first town next to it. Beautiful scenery, according to the locals.

Went shopping on the 2nd day of arrival. The groceries are actually cheap here (dollar for dollar of cos). We had a full trolley & it only costs about $70. If it were to be in Malaysia, it would be at least rm120. The oriental stuffs here are kinda expensive. Seniors advised us to get "great value" stuffs cos here, ppl don look at the brand. Everything is about the same so it’s pointless buying a more expensive stuff. Guess wat? The lake’s in Bemidji and yet they don’t have SEAFOOD here!!! Can u imagine? We were shocked when the seniors told us that… No seafood for one whole year *sob sob* They do have life lobsters though & their shrimps are all COOKED! No ikan bilis here. Hard to make soup… Hmmm… Kinda regret not bringing spices from Malaysia. Sigh… Walked in Wall Mart (similar to our Carrefour) for a whole 2 hours, buying all the necessities. We can actually get lost in there. Serious, it’s huge… Went to the BIg K Mart. Saw shoes. Darn cheap! Much cheaper than Malaysia! I almost bought a pair of Nike shoes for $19.99 which is like RM80 only! But i didn’t cos didn’t feel like buying. Haha… Did i mention i’ve gotten my winter boots already? Luckily Didn’t buy them back in Malaysia. I bought mine for only $9 (RM36)!!!! In Malaysia, a pair’s about rm300-rm700. *I bought a kid’s size though* Haha…

Visited a senior’s family friend before shopping. Everyone calls her "mama". She’s about 60++ I think, a grandmother of 2. She’s very used to International students, asking us to treat her home as our home far away from home. Very nice person. She rily makes it easier to be here especially when we’re all home sick & bf sick. Haha… She’s a very strong christian & she actually takes the role of "parents" among the students - as in preventing us from going to pubs/ bars, no pak toh with American guys (haha) etc. So with her around, it’s kinda a relief cos she’s somesort of a guardian.

Ate pizza for dinner. Ate 3 pcs & full like crap! But the seniors were eating to theirselves. I overheard one girl eating 6 pcs. Wow! It’s impossible not to get fat here, according to the seniors… I DOWAN!!! NO WAY!!!

On the 3rd day, went over to our lecturer’s son’s house. Played snow fight along the way… Very nice & cozy house. We were all wrapped up while the rest of them were saying it’s WARM. OMG! Suppose we’re still not used to the weather yet… Haha… After that went over to Amanda’s house to take the stuffs that we wanted. She rented the house’s basement. Very low ceiling & "kouk". Cannot tahan staying in there for long… Carried heavy stuffs back all the way to the campus…

Intravarsity Christian Fellowship at night. Very friendly couples staying in there. Met a few foreigners. Played "apples to apples". Quite interesting. A fun way to learn about American culture…

Next day went to the mart again. Spent $120 this time cos we got ourselves humidifiers. THe weather here may be cold but it’s dry to the max (my skin is "peeling" ugly!!!) We did our laundry & it dried the very next day. Jeans?! Dried in a night’s time?! It’s super the dry here… The rest of them went over to Payless (shoe shop) to get their winter boots. Mine’s still the cheapest hehe… Val got hers for $28, Fang & Yi - $25 (they got the same pattern, only different sizes). Ate at the burger shop. EXPENSIVE! One meal for $7! The portion’s huge though…

Blog for day 4 later… C ya!

P/s: Have been entering kitchen these few days more often than I have in a year’s time back in Malaysia. Haha!

In USA already

December 28th, 2005 by rance-ch

Well.. Hello ppl. Long time no blog & who would’ve known that the last time I blogged was in Malaysia & now i’m here in Bemidji State University’s campus (temporary room), typing my blog. I miss everyone back in Malaysia… I do… Very very much especially when I think back of scenes at the airport.

My experience of sending ppl off & me, myself going off is actually 2 kinda whole different feel. I reached early at the airport just to make sure I had enough time to prepare for check in etc & also prepare myself emotional wise. I may have sounded & looked all jolly at the airport but wheneva the whole laugh was out of system, I jsut felt a sudden drop of heavy stone in my heart. Hard to describe all those mix feelings I had. The worse moment came (anticipated it) when we had to depart at the escalator… Truthfully even before that , i had strong urges to cry already. Was trying very very hard to hold back tears. I don’t think I would’ve cried so fast if it weren’t for my mom. (One of my college frens actually bet that Val would be the 1st one crying but I ended up being the 1st haha…) Then, all the crying & hugging began. Each & everyone of u guys have played roles in my life so much that it’s impossible not to even be emotionally moved. Then again, maybe there was a crying spell (similar to yawning spell - when one sees another yawns, one would eventually yawn) The last person whom i hugged was the person that I think i’m gonna miss most. He’s occupied practically 70% of my life & have always been very closely connected to me. These past few days as I was talking/ discussing with him bout my leaving, it was hard to even control our tears, moreover at the airport. Didn’t wanna let go… But I had to… Going down the escalator with eeveryone looking. Gosh, the feeling was so heavy… I knew when i looked back, I was crying. Looking at him, down, silence n all, I felt very sad. So I chose to not look back all that much. Just kept walking forward. Oh My God… (Call me emotional but I’m tearing now as I’m thinking back)

The flying experience was totally new to me. Was so lost when they wanted to check my luggages. Oh ya! Rily regretted not having a back pack or a trolley bag for my hand luggage. The stupid thing was sooooooo heavy that my hands ached so much carrying it. Plus with my laptop n all… The first flight was from Malaysia to Singapore. Val & I looked & felt so "jakun" Haha… Quite smooth take off & landing. Reached Singapore. Again was lost. Didn’t know what to do next. Changi airport had lots of shops - branded shops. So we could only afford to see from the outside & I forgottent to bring any sing dollars… Issh… Was walking around when we found a free internet spot. Naturally, everyone of us went online. Went to Deb’s blog. Made me hold back tears again. Lame Deb.. Haha… Hardly slept. It was 12 am upon arrival at Singapore & the next flight was at 6am. Checked in at 3 am. Had to go through somesort of interview concerning our bags n luggages & Yi actually forgotten to bring her I-20 along. She had to go back all the way to the luggage area & korek the paper out. Thank god everything went well… The next shocking thing was when we were going through the beg checking to board in the flight. Everything was kinda in a rush & "luan" - had to take out laptop, pouch, phone etc… & my passport slipped into my winter jacket. So kan chiong when I coulnd’t find it. My boarding pass dropped on the floow while I was frantically searching for my passport. Thank god at the other end, my passport was "enclosed" with my jacket. Phew… Cold sweat there for 3 seconds haha… Yup, call me clumsy..

The first NorthWest Airline flight was good. Service was good. The back wasn’t occupied. So, I slept on 2 chairs. Got personal tv sumore Haha… & the flight only took 6 hours or so. THe scenery from the window seat was damn damn nice!!! The clouds looked like roles n roles of cotton candy & sunrise was awesome… The bad part was the landing wasn’t smooth. Almost vomitted.

Reached Narita, Tokyo. Advanced country. But the things weren’t cheap. Took a picture or 2. Boarded in the next transit. This time, the seats weren’t all that spacious & it was packed! Wasn’t as comfortable as the 1st but what the heck… The tv’s shared… The whole flight took about 11 hours. Damn tiring. Couldn’t get enuf sleep. Uncomfortable position. Torture!!! & we ate & we ate & we ate… Can u imagine eating dinner at 4.30pm Malaysia time? & breakfast after 7 hours later? Yaiks…

Finally reached Minneapolis. Managed to contact my parents & hc after losing contact for almost a day. The checking was thorough. Luckily they didn’t ask me to open my luggages. I would’ve a hard time repacking… Boarded in the last domestic flight. The aeroplane was a small one, very very small… & very very noisy… There were seniors (previously HELP students) & an ang moh man waiting for us when we arrived. Yi & I "lost" one huge luggage each but they say it’s kinda normal. We’ll get it back eventually. Lucky for me I had my clothes luggage. The other "lost" one was filled with kilik kalak… Haha.. Pray hard it comes back to me soon…

The temperature was below 0 when we arrived at Bemidji. It’s a small quite town but quite dispersed. There’s marts n malls here. McD & KFC too… The tallest building here is about 12 levels high haha… Slow pace area. The seniors cooked dinner for us. More like some "ka hiong choi/ jia xiang chai". Felt terribly dizzy & sleepy. Finally, had a chance to talk on phone with parents & hc. Saw hc through MSN too… So happy…

First night sleep here & now i’m awake blogging. Miss u guys very very much… Will be going out in the snow today. Should be quite an experience. Btw, snows aren’t actually all that white n clean. There’s black ones too haha…

C ya ppl… Take care… Will blog again pretty soon…

It Started With A Kiss & Hana Yori Dango

November 21st, 2005 by rance-ch

IT STARTED WITH A KISS
Am currently "chasing" this series which is being aired in Taiwan & released in D-addicts for downloading. This series is actually based on a Japanese manga. The comic did not have an ending cos the author passed away while writing half way through it. Then, there’s a Japanese drama version of it (which I bought years ago). & now, they’ve finally come out with a Taiwan drama version. Initially, when I saw it released in the homepage, I tot it was the Japanese version but no, it was Taiwan produced. So, out of curiousity, I decided to dl. Even after I downloaded till episode 6, I didn’t start watchin & it didn’t look all that interesting. One day of mischief - & I’M ATTRACTED & ADDICTED TO IT! Dunno to say I regret anot but the series is rily rily nice! With Joe Zheng Yuang Chang & Ariel Lin Yi Chen acting in it, the show’s just great! At first, I tot it was weird for Ariel to act like a complete blur girl but after watching, both the them just blend so well & look perfect together! Serious… Seeing their chemistry n all… The show’s funny & touching at the same time. PLUS, ZHENG YUAN CHANG’s damn damn damn cute! Hahahaha… He’s 188cm tall. Can u imagine? The scene where he kissed the girl, he had to open his legs wider to appear not so tall & when he came out & stood in front of the door, he was taller than the door’s bingkai (*OMG). The show’s currently released till ep9 & i doubt i’ll finish dl even till I leave for US. Worried how to cont watching if I can’t dl there. Sigh… Total recommendation!

HANA YORI DANGO
For those of you who doesn’t know what does Hana Yori Dango refers to, it’s actually "The Flower Boys" or in another words, "Meteor Garden" (acted by F4 & Big S). Similarly, this series originated from manga & went on to Japanese series, Taiwan series & the latest, Japanese series again. After reading the original comic, I realized the Taiwan series made quite major changes in the story line here n there but overall, it’s still the same (refering to Dau Ming Shi, San Chai etc). Anyway, as I just mentioned, there’s a latest  japanese series on it again & I rily appreciate F4 for acting in the show cos the Dau Ming Shi is much much more leng chai than Domyouji (as in Taiwan more good looking than japanese). The guy’s actually quite famous in Japan & it appears that many fans were looking forward to him acting in it. But to us, well at least to me, he’s rather a stranger & I seriously wondered y did the casting team chose him?! He’s the least leng chai & he’s the shortest among the F4. NOT CUTE AT ALL! Erm… Maybe I’m exaggerating this. I mean he do has his good points (big eyes etc.) but… NOT QUALIFIED ENOUGH TO BE THE LEADER OF F4! Hahahaha… As for Hua Zhe Lei (Hanazawa Rui), i think the guy they choose to act was quite compatible to the character & the guy’s yeng. Haha Got the Lei feel… The other two (Xi Men - Soujiro & Mei Zhuo - Akira) Hmm… Not bad looking la… Both Taiwan & Japan also quite good looking I would say… Am also currently "chasing" after this series. Only released till ep5. But it’ll be much shorter than Taiwan series since it’s Japanese (always significantly shorter). Btw, the San Chai (Makino Tsukushi)’s quite cute. Cuter than Big S… & Dau Ming Shi’s elder sister (Tsubaki)’s acted by Nanako Matsushima. The actress in GTO, Takashi Sorimachi’s wife.

Just a little comment here n there bout the series I’m watching now. These shows are considered MUST WATCH in my opinion. Enjoy!

P/S - The Wireless in the apartment is really killing me! It’s too too too slow!!! Then again, It’s not even mine - considered stealing u know? Hahaha… THanks to the whoeva’s izit anyway…

Sweet 20th Birthday

November 14th, 2005 by rance-ch

I’m finally in the gang of the 20s. As Deb said, I’m no more a teen without the "1" in my age anymore. It doesn’t matter as long as I still feel young inside. Haha…

Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to chin hun,
Happy birthday to me!

Tanti auguri ate,
Tanti auguri ate,
Tanti auguri a…te..,
Tanti auguri ate. (Italian)

Saeng il chu ka ham ni da (Korean - Happy birthday to YOU??) Haha…

Anyway, the day before I was stuck at home with nothing much to do & no where to go. Had no idea how was I going to celebrate either. Couldn’t go online cos whoeva the fella that has the wireless thingey seemed to have on the router but not the modem (Crap!) Btw, just in case I forgotten to mention. I’m currently staying at the bbk apartment, no more in tepi sungai until my tepi sungai house finish renovating. The day was kinda boring. Didn’t feel like doing lab report or any other assignments. Was studying for 20 minutes when i slept off. Haha… Then, went out yum cha (dinner?) with darling in Gourmet Desert. They ran out off all tong sui except for tang yuan & thats also with black sesame flavor left. Spent my 1st hour of birthday with Darling. Haha… & his gift… Was very touched with it & didn’t much expected it. Then again, it was logical of his gift. He gave me a WHITE SWEATER/ JACKET from MNG which i rily rily like a lot (refer to pictures). Don think it came cheap also. Felt like crying cos at that time I was thinking of how much I would miss when I’m at US & how thoughtful of him to get me a jacket (so that I can think of him everytime i put it on). Rily warm jacket. THANKS YOU VERY VERY MUCH DEAR!!!!

Spent almost the whole birthday with darling. From 12++pm till 11pm. Yay! Had lunch with his family (most of my family members not in) in Teluk Gong. Food not bad. Experienced eating "lai liu ha" (hokkien=hay ko/prawn) with hands, ripping it off its shell. Haha… Hw looked stressful (SPM the next day). Had dinner at Funazushi with darling. It seems that the specky chef there didn’t smile at hc & hw when they went there a few weeks earlier & this time, when i went, the guy smiled. C wat’s Hc hinting at? Haha… Very very filling dinner. Very filling!!!

Didn’t realize darling wanted to buy me cake until he turned & stopped at Secret Recipe & after he asked me wat cheese cake i like best. Haha… Damn blur case… Again, very touched (cos was thinking bout when I leave for US & he’s not there with me *sob sob*). Small triangle piece of cake with a candle in the middle. Cute…

All in all, a very sweet & simple birthday. Thanks to everyone who wished me (belated or not Haha…) & thanks for the pressie’s that I’ve received so far (from Darling, Aziz, JJ & Mom). & I wanna clarify stg, for those who misunderstood thinking that I didn’t like Hc’s gift, IT’S SOOOO UNTRUE! I LOVE IT VERY MUCH!

Dear, thank u for such a wonderful memory. It would be memorable enough for me to bring over to US. I guess ur the person I’m gonna miss the most while I’m there. Thanks. Love you always.. Muaks!

Yay! Video marks out!

November 8th, 2005 by rance-ch

The VIDEO ASSIGNMENT marks are finally out! Ms Winnee returned our assignment and the marks were GREAT! Well, maybe not all that great, but it was rily rily comforting & satisfying having known that our hardwork have been repaid. Avergaely, we got 36 - 37 out of 40 (marks differed due to the effort part - depends on the characters we acted in the video). There were comments that Ms Winnee gave along when she returned our assignment.
1. Ah yi has chunted make up (insomnia) and she’s a good screamer.
2. Andrew’s a petulant kid & his accident running looks "weird".
3. Chin HUn’s hair’s interesting. Do parents still tie like that nowadays?
4. Chyun Fang acting like a stereotypical aunty & eating the doughnut as she leaves the house (this was a "hole" that was rather not obvious n yet obvious haha…)
5. Where did we get the doctor’s robe & stetescope? (CP’s a medical student… DUh!)
6. Did we eat the spaghetti that fell into the sink? (Ew!! Erm… Yes, we did.. Hahaha…)
7. Accident scene was dramatic. So was divorce scene. Almost cried looking at Val’s sad face.
8. Yi looked like ghost? Scary…
9. Thank every1 involved.

I don’t rily remember all the comments but i think that’s about it. Was rily excited & euphoric over it that Ms Winnee noticed. Haha… The other group doing the video assignment had high marks too. Hurrah to all who did video!!!

Despite all the happiness, i’m again drowning in the midst of assignments. IO lab report due this friday. Physics quiz this thursday. Lucky physics assignment due next week. Poster due next monday. Colloquium presentation next Saturday. Abnormal lab report due next next monday. Abnormal assessment (super scary) next week. Aiyo… So luan! KAU MENG AH!!!

& my lappy’s so so so running out of space due to all the downloading. My Hd’s not back yet but even if it is, it would still be almost the same. The huge space HD i have is equally running out of space. OMG! Tell me about it!

Have already shifted to the apartment as my house is under renovation. Terrible renovation & a terrible place to live in. Dirt etc. PLus, all the things are packed and kept (thrown more like it) here n there that i’m having trouble finding the stuffs i want. My books are wrapped, cant even get them out. A whole big mess la… Aiyoyoy… & the renovation isn’t gonna finish even by the time I leave for US, meaning i won’t even have the chance to see the new look of my house (besides pictures of cos), don even mention staying in it. The whole front porch is gone, the whole kitchen is gone, my brother & my room will be extended out. Oh ya, & the stairs gone too… Gone as in renovate la… whole big project ya know? Dunno how am I gonna pack for US by then. Haih…

GUess thats it for now.. Tata… Till we meet again…

WAit! Another thing worthy of mentioning. INNOCENT STEPS is a korean movie that’s about LATIN DANCE. I totally recommend this movie. It’s a must watch esp to those who are interested in dancing. Even those who arent were mesmerized & captivated when they watched this movie. Thats all… A MUST WATCH!!!!!
